WHO WE ARE
Siouxland Lacrosse Association is a non-profit organization, which was developed to introduce, educate, & give people of all ages the opportunity to play Lacrosse.
This extremely fast paced, finesse game that is popular mainly on both coasts, was first originated by the native Americans, and is considered to be north America's oldest team sport. The game was played over fields that could be miles long, and lasted for days. With evolution, the game is now played on a field the same size as a football or soccer field.
Two lacrosse players and a couple of former collegiate athletes started Siouxland Lacrosse Association, with the dream to bring this amazing game to all of South Dakota. Starting at the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, Mad Cow Lacrosse got it's start in 2000 & 2001 with help from Shamrock Lacrosse. Playing a few scrimmages the first year and about a dozen games the next, Mad Cow's have placed the building block for all lacrosse in South Dakota.
Now with Univ. of South Dakota up and playing, team founder Brad Barclay is moving west to Rapid City to continue to help the sport grow. Summer 2001 Brad and Mad Cow team Capt. Tyler "Roo" Neuharth , East Coast player Michael "Horny" Horn, & many other Mad Cow , and the Nebraska Cornhuskers players will start summer leagues for all to play and learn the great sport of Lacrosse.
