Tag Day

I've looked at all of our fund-raising events, and the most efficient in terms of dollars per hour input is going door to door to raise cash. We call them tag days and every girl has to do 2 of 3.
Selling products doesn't make sense when I look at it, because it seems like we are overpaying for the items (lollipops for 50 cents that you could buy cheaper at a store) - not to mention the complexity. I do hope the Girl Scouts never quit selling cookies, though! Things like the scratch cards I've seen seem like good ways for the scratch card maker to raise funds - don't really see how it helps the kids raise money though. We want to raise $20K for a spring trip next year. It will take 30 2-hour tag days. I'm looking for more ideas if you have them! skraner@comcast.net
